Help Need for Dell power Edge 1800

Hi All,

I am trying to install Redhat 9 on Dell's CERC 6-channel SATA RAID controller, which is configured as RAID 5, but my OS is not detecting my harddisk. Is any one have the drivers for this ? Please help me out

Thanks,
Srikanth

I also have 2 Poweredge SC1420 with the CERC 6 channels and I finally found that only a RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 based distribution is supporting this kind of hardware. Try CentOS 3 or Whitebox 3. You will have mostly the same functionnality as a RedHat 9 distribution...

I have insalled HP servers with raid and SCO was a waste of time.
Reverted to removing RAID controller.
Problem is with this dell server you need to install the raid drivers for the computer's bios along with the accraid drivers. Its really messy and a lot of hit and miss, but in the end it is not worth the trouble.
If you rebuild a bad kernel and boot using it you are done, need to reinstall again.
stick with proven technology as no one wants to own up to this mess they have created with any kind of help...
Sorry but i have spent a lot of time in this....... The industry sucks when it comes to cooperating with eachother....
