I really feel for you Icecube. I really liked the blackdog project and their idea. If you ever want to sell your blackdog let me know and I will gladly buy it from you. I've been trying to find one for a while.
Okay having said that there are a couple of things that you may want to consider. For one you may not be able to find firefox 2 for your BlackDog since the processors architecture is not x86, nor is it x86-64. Its RISC-32 just like an Apple Mac so if you just go and try to download Firefox 2 from mozilla.org or even a regular Debian package you will not be able to get it to work no matter what you do. Your simply not comparing apples to apples. Now the Blackdog may have an API or layer that supports x86 applications, but it sounds like you don't even have GCC or any other compiler installed on your system. Also the binary installer that comes with Firefox 2 is most likely not meant to run on a PowerPC architecture.
So you need to find applications that will work and run on your Blackdog. You need understand that Blackdog is pretty close to another distro called YellowDog which is meant for the PowerPC architecture. YellowDog was taken over by Terra Soft and will run on the PS3. Check out their website
http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/products/ydl/ So you need to take a look at this site here
http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/pr...ydl/apps.shtml and read and find the applications you need and want for your architecture.
