HDD transactions per second versus dat atransfer

Hello,

please help give advice on this issue

1) i have SSD with fast reading speeds and many IOPS

2) i have 7k RPM disk which has exhausted transactions per second. It has only like 1-5Mb/s writing, but transactions per seconds are quite maxed out.

Im interested if i want to copy like 100gb of data from SSD to 7k drive via internet (9Mb/s), would it hurt transactions per seconds of the 7k rpm drive? or such data transfer (big tar.gz archives) is very low tps intensive? thx

You could minimise the impact by using nice and ionice on the process writing to the 7k HDD.

thx, im using them on many io intensive cronjob tasks (shell scripts), but its not the solution, on the server are virtual servers that cant ACCESS disk nice (ionice) AND ALSO MANY OTHER .php, mysql webserver processes that are intensive and not good to use nice. NOT SOLVED, Can anyone please answer the question in my initial post?
