Hauppage Win-TV USB

Hello fellow Linux users,
I am a relatively new Desktop Linux user (I've recently installed Mandrake Linux 10.1, do I have to call it Mandrivia if I don't want to?) and I've been surprised by the easy compatibility of most of my devices (excepting my firewire Maxtor hard drive, but it uses NTFS anyways and can wait). However, there is one device that I wish to use with Linux that Mandrake seemed to recognize upon installation: my Hauppage Win-TV USB card. I cannot get this card to work with any TV application (I'm using KDE), and I've seen posts about usbvision but I cannot get that to install and/or work. I would like to be able to use this TV Tuner under Linux, as I find it a pain to have to switch to Windows to watch TV. A detailed how-to or detailed hints would be most appreciated. The FAQ said to mention the kernel, it is 2.6.8.1-12mdk. Whatever that means
