Cool hard drive powers down on reboot

I recently upgraded Slackware 9.1 from kernel 2.4.22 to 2.6.6. I finally have everything running great except for one thing. Whenever I reboot my hard drive powers down and powers back up again? This seems very odd. Is there anyway I could stop this? Thank You

I don't know of any way to stop it. I never noticed a difference between the 2.4 kernels and the 2.6's I run now - my drives have always momentarily spun down to a stop then spun back up again during a reboot.
