hi i currently run windows xp and mandrake .... so my files are under NTFS at windows ( with all the songs and stuff )
but it seems i can only browse trough the root directory
but linux sees both hard disks at the configure panel and i can ajust the partitions
but i can't seen to browse into the other partition
wile i saw somebody with knopix and he could browse all he's hd's and he was also running xp
What filesystem are you using under Windows - Fat32 or NTFS
I do know through experience that if Windows XP is running on a NTFS filesystem that you have to be logged in as root in order to have read-only access to the partition. This support has to be compiled into the kernel (most distributions that I work with have atleast this amount of support for NTFS pre-compiled). Fat32 is really easy to get working under linux - it is referred to as vfat under linux - hopefully this helps...
i'm using 9.0
the problem isn't that it doesn't detect it
but i can't seem to browse anywere els except in the root directory's
so i can't browse into an other hd or something
