getting a annoying message too much work at interrupt,status 0x01


Hi,

everything is ok ..........but from yesterday i m getting a annoying message after few minutes interval.

kernel:eth1: Too much work at interrupt, status 0x01

this message is comming after few minutes interval .......

what does it mean ?? is it doing any harm to my server ???

please help me out

Is your NIC sharing an IRQ with something else?
Can you post output of 'cat /proc/interrupts'...

Yeah, you got your NIC sharing IRQ 11 with 2 different USB busses.

You can go into your BIOS and change the IRQ for eth1 (looks like 6,7,and 10 are open) Or else just put the card into a different pci slot (if it is PCI).

And no, I don't think it is harming anything, as long as everything still works it is more of an annoyance.

Thanks a lot it worked .U have been a great help to me.I have posted 3 diff threads on this forum pertaining to some other problems .But this is the first time I have got the resolution.
