Generic USB TV Card 05e1:0400

Hi, I've buy a generic usb tv card and I want that it works in my ubuntu 9.10, I don't know what I can do because in the cd instalation driver are only windows drivers. To know what is the posible driver I do the next:

in terminal I type 'lsusb' and I get
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 05e1:0400 Syntek Semiconductor Co., Ltd

when i search for the ID '05e1' in google I found many pages that indicates this is a webcam however it is not, I have installed the driver stk11xx-2.1.0 but still not works when I try to view tv in any program for example vlc I get the error cannot open video device '/dev/video0

It seams that the tv card does not mount in the route /dev/video0.

Please anyone can tell me what I can do.

PD: English is not my language, I hope that you understand me
