Does this mean the TX2000 is the equivalent to the OEM Promise 20276?

It does. If you hit Promise's site, download the TX2000 drivers for your distro (try other as the OS if you aren't running SuSE or RedHat)

If you look at the readme file included, you can see the list of chipsets the driver will support (which includes our 20276)

Just wanted to thank mart1n for letting us know about this. I was finally able to reinstall my Linux system. I decided to try Mandrake this time and the drivers worked perfectly with Mandrake 9.0.

Note: If anyone tries Mandrake 9.0, the readme.txt file with the drivers say to press Ctrl+Alt+F7 in two places. They meant Ctrl+Alt+F1. The Mandrake readme is identical to the RedHat readme file, so I assume F7 is for RedHat.
