Free 2GB ram for anyone in the U.S. - I will even pay shipping

I have an extra 2 GB (pretty sure it says 1Rx16 PC3L - 12800S - 11 - 13 - mC3 by SKhynix).

Nothing wrong with it. Just a spare I have laying around from a previous ram upgrade...

I'll pay shipping to you if you live in the U.S. Just thought maybe someone could use it, especially to bump up the ram in a lite version of Linux you may be running....

Private message me here or reply to this thread....

Edit: closure added 12/13:
I was wrong about that all-numeric address working. I both tried it and asked the post office: they said: they just throw it away in the dead letter trash. Sorry, it made perfect sense to me, but I guess their rules and/or equipment programming reject it.
I decided I don't need the 2GB Ram: my daughter bought me a $13 8GB ddr3 which works fine in my c2011 1215T eeePC, and to keep the (worth $0) 1005HAB and try to fix it's kbd ribbon cable connection.
(& fortunately I didn't buy that 'junk' linked in next=1st sentence)
Over and out.

Hi! I collect and then can't bear to discard junk

My mailing address: box 0000 94536-198170 (I'm pretty sure that's all you need to get something to me)

I would suggest cutting out space for it in the middle of a piece of cardboard, and putting it in a small envelope, with just regular postage for an ounce or two. You could even add some tin foil or plastic and tape to hold it in place. If it was me, I would get really creative, to keep it under a dollar.

To semi-hijack this thread with something I'd like to give away: a very old eeePC 1005HAB. It's 32 bit Atom N270, NO HDD (has bracket), 1GB ram, dead battery but good power supply (tiniest connector I've ever seen). I'm having trouble reconnecting the kbd ribbon cable to the MB after taking it apart, but all the parts are there. It booted okay from USB or SD card (I'd be happy to pay the several dollars postage to get it to a new home that might want to do something with it, but, yes, it's very UNlikely anybody would want it)

P. S. I also collect pretty older postage stamps, so if anybody wants to send me anything decorated with stamp denominations from a few cents up (adding up to current postage) and even put inside a print out of something interesting like a chart of Linux BPF, healthy (ANDI etc) food chart, etc., feel free, as a Xmas gift to this isolated old Santa, LoL

Edit update AS a reply to #3 (without posting and thus disturbing everybody [plus I'm trying to keep my post count under 999], but then you may never find this! Also, I have crazily chosen to turn off PM!)
Wow! We're both [crazy, at least I am] junk collectors and fixers, LoL. You could send me an empty envelope with your return address on it (or on a [maybe useful: see above] note inside). This (or anyone) could test my posted address, which I 99 plus percent believe will work. (could you remove it from your quote? in case I choose to delete it from my original=#2=this post, within the two week edit-able window)

Also note I'm having a bit of trouble reconnecting the keyboard ribbon cable to the motherboard, using the little white 'push in' part of the retainer, which maybe(?) should not have come off. Anyway, this would relieve me of the burden of trying to get the keyboard working fully correct again (and that's 'worth it' for me to pay the shipping and thus I don't want any $help)

Re:#4: Porteus: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ro-4175719256/

LQsearch shows 135 Threads mentioning 1005HA* !!!

@#5: I think I managed to turn on private messaging (not that I wanted to), plus I sent you an email suggesting (IF you're willing to waste the stamp) sending an empty envelope to see if I get it. I'm still pretty sure I will but I've never tried it. USPS does very much run on zip code, even 11 digits on an envelope that I recently got.

I've always wanted Unix cmds(1or8) limited to three characters max

I'd be interested in the Atom computer. I have several HDD, both of which are actually 1 TB drives that I replaced them with SSD's. I guess these HDD would work in it. I'd like to tinker with it and maybe add a little ram and run a lite version of linux on it. Would make a fun project.

I'll send you the ram and you send me the Atom cpu?
PM me & I'll give you my address.
p.s. maybe this version of linux would work on it? https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ha-4175681739/ or someone could suggest a lite version thAt WOULD run on an atom

I can also chip in on shipping the atom

AntiX will work on an Atom with 1GB ram, I used to have one, but modern web browsers are the biggest problem, even with 2GB swap, they're really slow; but it's always fun to tinker with old kit.

Tiny Core Linux & SliTaz are 2 more very light distros to try, & there's even non Linux O/S such as Haiku, MenuetOS & KolibriOS.

Have fun!

The 2GB of ram is still available if anyone wants it.
User "!!!" is a joke, wanting me to mail it to him at an impossible address & offering an old Atom laptop to everyone...
