I have been trying to install fglrx v8.542 (Catalyst 8.10) on my Debian Lenny KDE install, but I am having trouble. I extracted the necessary .deb files from the installer, compiled the kernel module using module-assistant, and ran aticonfig --initial without running into any trouble. But when I reboot as instructed by ATI's documentation, the boot failes. Just as kdm is about to bring up my login screen, I get a black screen followed by a reboot about 10-30 seconds later.
Below is the tail end of my Xorg.0.log with fglrx enabled. I would have given you the whole thing, but the forum imposes a character limit.

I see some errors there, but I have little idea what they mean, and a Google search did not turn up a satisfactory answer. If someone could help me solve this issue, I would appreciate it greatly.
