Fedore Core 3 won't start after nVidia install

Hello,

I just installed the latest nvidia drivers for my new GeForce 6600 GT on my brand new Fedora Core system that runs kernel version 2.6.9-1.667. I followed all of the instructions in the readme, but now when I start my system, the bootup hangs at the Configuring Kernel Parameters line. It just sits there with a flashing cursor and nothing happens. My hard-drive activity LED isn't flashing either, so I doubt it's trying to do anything.

Could anyone give me a hand with this? I just upgraded so I can finally run some games, and now this is just killing me.

Thanks in advance.

Hi:

Best option will be to be able to get into the shell and do a nvidia-installer --uninstall. But I don't know how to get into the shell. Maybe with the installation disc... nividia-installer have various parameters but you need the shell.

Anyway, you could consider running the installation cds and typying linux-rescue or sometime similar...

Maybe other coleague could help more.

Ok, thanks.

I'm going to try to see what I can do with Knoppix.

Any ideas why this may have happened? I've noticed there are some issues with Fedora Core 3, but none this significant. I'd like to be able to get it installed eventually, but I don't want my kernel to break every time I try.

Thanks.

Hi:

You may try nvidia-installer --sanity it checks driver installation. Besides that I don't know right now. It is a very ugly error IMO. Again from shell.
