fedora 4 install


hi
I can't install fedora 4 on my computer. my main board is 865GVHZ. Can you tell me why?

No, I cannot. FC4 is no longer supported anyway. Support for fedora is now for only available for the two current versions. Right now that is FC5 and FC6. When Fedora 7 is released(April?) support for FC5 will be dropped.

I order for anyone to tell you why, you will need to provide more information. What type of drive (sata/pata), 32bit or 64bit, and what the EXACT error message was (or at least behavior).

fedora 4 install

My drive is sata, 64 bit. when i put the fedora 4 drive in th cd room. i appear some commands and stop.

Most of the sata controler drivers were not on the FC4 (or even up to FC6) install disks. If you can find a respin for FC4 (the FC6 respin has most of them) it MAY have support for the sata controler.

Please check out if ur motherboard is Intel or Mercury

I had a lot of problems with SATA Raid drivers on FC4. They are solvable but as mentioned before I would strongly suggest you go to FC6. Also check your BIOS and make sure you have updated it.
