FC4 ATI Mach64 Startx Freezes

I'm new to Fedora Core and Linux in general and cannot startx. It runs for a second and then locks up. I have ATI Mach64 128 Rage Pro. I realize those that can help will need to see error ang config files. Since I'm new, I'm not sure what to provide. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been struggling with this problem for some time.

Don't you see any error message when you are dropped back to the shell?

I don't get any error messages because it locks up and I'm forced to restart.

Here are two errors I found in Xorg.setup.log

ATI(0): Failed to set up write-combining range (0xd8000000,0x800000)

ATI(0): Failed to set up write-combining range (0xd8000000,0x800000)
