Extra commands in modem


my ISP wants me to put an extra command in my modem (+ms=v34) in the extra command box in my windows (xppro). i was just wondering how can i make the same changes in my linux modem. I'm using RH9 and my modem is a Conexant SmartHSFi v92 56k DF PCI modem.
