External DVD-RW unit, Firewire/USB but does it work?

ALDI (a foodstore over here in UK) do these "special buys" from time to time, and most of what I have had from them has been OK.

My two computers both have one optical drive, because one is a laptop and the other a shuttle. The both have USB2 and the shuttle has Firewire as well.

Sometimes it's better to have 2 optical drives, and I am wondering if a rewriter such as the one offered at ALDI from this Thursday would work in Linux.

Here's a link to the actual advert for it: http://uk.aldi.com/special_buys/product_91.html

Obviously my intention is to use it with K3B rather than the supplied nero but will it work?
