em2880-dvb hangs after udev on boot

I am getting the same problem as bigchris in #70. This is the error I get after booting into udev. I am running FC6 on an AMDx64, Asus Nforce4 motherboard:
2.6.22.4-45.fc6

RSP <ffff81003e50dad8>
ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'NULL'

DVB: registering new adapter (em2880 DVB-T)
DVB: registering frontend 0 (LG electronics LGDT3303 VSB/QAM Frontend) . . .
Em28xx: Initialized (Em2880 DVB Extension) extension

If I let the system stand long enough it blinks through for a second, I get a red [Failed] (but the screen doesn't last long enough to read) and thereafter the whole screen goes blank and the system is completely locked up. Any help? I have searched the internet for a couple weeks now trying to find something similar - even emailed Markus, but never heard anything back. I know others are having problems . . . please email or post with solutions as I will do the same.

I can't even get into my operating system without unplugging the unit so dmesg and lsmod probably won't help to troubleshoot.

Thanks!

BJ

Have you tried the mailing list at http://mcentral.de/mailman/listinfo/em28xx ?

Other than compiling/installing the very latest version of the driver code that's all I can suggest.

Yeah - not much of a response. I had two TV tuners installed. I took one out and the error went away. The older tvtuner was a bttv based card probably from the late 90's.

It looks to me (and from reading other threads) that there is an overall problem having multiple tvtuner cards installed with the Markus' firmware. Can anyone confirm this?

I am thinking about adding another Pinnacle HDTV Pro Stick to my system and would like to know if it will be a headache before purchasing.
