ebox-3850 usb boot

Hey guys, I am not sure on this one so if someone could help it would be appreciated.

We have an eBOX-3850 which was ordered a while ago with knoppix and we wish to upgrade this. It has an internal 500mb drive and I wanted to boot off a USB drive to fedora live and do the update/install from there.

I setup the USB drive following (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraLiveCD/USBHowTo) that link. When I start the device, there is no bios setting for booting except for IDE0, yet you can F11 (boot menu), and select the USB device (which it shows, USB Scandisk Cruzer).

After hitting that selection, you get a black screen with Boot Error in the top left. I tested in 2 other machines, both Dell Desktops and they booted off the device and worked great.

Now that little eBox is running Knoppix, is there something else I could try to get this to boot off it?

Thanks.
Lr

Good day Sir Lancelot.

Did you have any success with your Ebox effort.

It appears I have the same problem you had booting USB from Ebox.

I've done lots of stuff trying to get this Ebox "¤"¤¤#% boot Linux from USB-Stick/USB-HD but without any luck.

I'm no linux expert but have been trying Lilo, Grub, syslinux etc without much luck with this device.

Suspect it may need an original MS-DOS MBR or something like that (tried some compatible ones), but I really don't like to depend on Dos, I meen it's a free world isn't it :-)

Any pointers, links etc would be highly appreciated.

Tnx alot and regards.
