Greetings all. I've posted this message in the mandrake forum but no one really gave me the response I wanted. So hopefully what I want is possible.
The problem:
My touch pad on my Emachine M3505 laptop has that F%$#ing "touch lightly to click" feature on it. So when I'm typing ever so carefully not to "touch" the touchpad at all, sometimes my base of my thumb just grazes it and it cause my pointer to click somewhere, which usually somehow ends up highlighting a bunch of text i'm typing in these forums and then replacing it with letters mid word of what I'm typing.
Please someone, tell me how I can disable this touch clicking "feature" (annoyance), preferably with out disabling my touch pad altogether. Some nice folks in the mandrake forum suggest I shut down the touchpad module, and then just use my external usb mouse. Any other solutions?
mmm... I didn't know about modinfo, im still a noober, i'll check into that. thanks adz
But I'm still not sure which module is my touchpad, cause i disabled every module at least once that had the word mouse or usb in it, and it never shut off...
Its a synaptics pointing device. any help anyone?
and ill try being a little more firm with it this time. thanks dzt.
Show us the output os lsmod. I'll see if I can find which one is the touchpad module, if indeed it's any of them. It wont be a USB module I pretty sure.
