I have a dell inspiron 6000 laptop and kubuntu, and when i start the computer at the bootup screen it beebs like 7 or 8 times and then boots up into K and then everything is normal for a while.. and then the mouse slows down and starts to freeze up like its under heavy load and everything unfreezes again after a minute and its been going on like this for couple of days already.. And the same thing in windows xp and vista and even when i enter the bios things start to select themselves on and off for no reason ??
What could it be?
The weird thing is that when i use a live cd everything is normal... so the thing is that only when i install kubuntu or windows it starts to freeze up and unfreeze and sometimes the right mouse button on the mouse pad does not work cuz its too sensitive...

The POST beeps indicate an error of some sort. You need to count the beeps and look up the fault.
The Inspiron 6000 doesn't normally beep for a POST error. The lock-LEDs (caps-/num-/scroll-lock) should light up to show what type of error was found instead. The beeping, and the other behavior you describe sounds more like a stuck key to me. Dell moved from beeps to lights to make identifying POST errors easier for our customers (three lights are easier to read for the average customer).
If you are able to, I would definitely suggest running the Dell diagnostics (onboard from the F12 one-time boot menu (assuming the 32Mb diags partition is still on the hard drive) or by booting to the Dell Inspiron Resource CD (aka Drivers & Utilities CD)).
I will be more than happy to provide any help I can in getting the problem resolved.
