dell hardware drivers

greetings LQers,

I am newb to solving hardware driver issues. I just got a new dell vostro that I wanted to use as a apache2 server. fedora core 7 does not find disk controller drivers and could not even get to the install process. Ubuntu was able to find drivers and was able to install, the install did not find Ethernet drivers and so I have Ubuntu installed, but can not access my network. How do I figure out what drivers i don't have and get those installed?

thanks

-steve
