Debian Sarge Refresh rate or Resolution problem

Hey,

I installed Debian Sarge on my PC. It works fine. The only problem is my screen slightly fleshes and that hurts my eyes. Especially when I see the things with white background, I can see my screen blinks. My PC is dual boot system. On the windows my screen works good. Below is my XF86Config-4 file.

You need to change the driver for the video card from the vesa being used right now. As root use dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 choose the advanced option (up/down arrow keys then enter key) keep hitting the enter key until you get to driver to use select the one that matches your video card. For Nvidia choose nv for ATI choose ati .... you might want to tells us what you have for a card if you need help choosing.

Well for the non-obvious ones I usually use Google with card name and "X server module" for the search term it will normally have what you need in the first few hits or the TLDP has quite a lot of information for things like that. Good to hear its working.
