Hi,
I have a problem when I try to start up a game:
You guys would probably say: Heeeeeey install your drivers!!!!!!!!! But I have already installed them and I can see the NVIDIA Logo when I start up X, so what could be wrong?

I was running into the exact same problems. After toying with an ATI card for a while (ATI drivers still suck :-( ), I went back to nVidia only to find that some of my games didn't work. After scouring the internet for help, I came across a couple of articles (mostly referring to debian) that said to remove (or just rename to be safe) the directory /usr/lib/tls.
So I renamed it to /usr/lib/tls_bak, and everything seems functional! I will update my post if I came across any problems. I run gentoo just to let you know.
