D-link DWL-510 PCI Wireless Adapter

Hi,

I have recently bought a DWL-510 wireless adapter (with the Atheros Chipset) and am having troubles getting it working. I have downloaded the Madwifi drivers and succusfully run make and make install but then it tells you to load the module wlan.ko into the kernel by doing

insmod wlan.ko

but the result is

Code:

error "inserting wlan.ko": -] Invalid module format

I am using kernel 2.6.13.4 and Slackware 10.2. Any suggestions?

I've heard though that using that will cause the system to lock up with an Atheros card.
