I've been using Linux for quite a while, but I'll admit I'm not an expert in all areas. I have a D-Link DSB-C310 webcam, and I'm running Ubuntu 8.10. The green light comes on when I plug it in, and the output of my dmesg in regards to the camera says:
Code:
[ 7562.700084] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
[ 7562.911126] usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 7562.913806] ov511: USB OV518+ video device found
[ 7562.915621] ov511: Device revision 2
[ 7562.957468] ov511: Compression required with OV518...enabling
[ 7563.361422] ov511: Sensor is an OV7620AE
[ 7563.559601] ov511: Device at usb-0000:00:1d.1-1 registered to minor 0
So tell me, is there an "easy" way to either use the Windows drivers (I have the original CD for the camera) or to find a Linux driver or solve whatever problem I have that will allow me to use the camera? If you guys need more information, tell me how to get it and I'll be happy to provide that information, and thank you in advance for any help.
