Question CUPS not working with OfficeJetG55xi, what can be done?

Hello, i have added my printer via the url to configure cups, done it as root. But my printer still does not function, it has worked in the past, but with this fresh installation, it has not. Is there something i need to know that i could have done wrong, or what should i do to fix this problem? -The drivers i used were the recommended ones for officejet g55.

I think we could use a few more details before we can help.
First of all, what Linux disto are you running, please? Did you install the driver for the g55? I have one myself, networked via my wifes windoz, and it works fine when I install the hplip driver and configure CUPS properly.

Hello, i recently installed ubuntu Feisty Fawn, fresh, so now i need to set my printer up, i have installed the drivers etc. but it just doesn't seem to work, one thing that confuses me, is that i don't know what item to pick from the list, b/c i get OfficeJet g55xi USB #1, OfficeJetG55xi faklsdjfla(serial number), a fax one hp direct etc., i don't know which one to choose, then on the next step setup does not auto detect the driver, so i pick the one i said i used above, and after setup the printer doesn't work, i have tried several times with USB#1 and the serial number one, and i don't know what i'm doing wrong?, I'll be happy to provide more info as asked for. Thanks,
