Creative webcam not seen in openSuSE 11

I have a Creative webcam which worked w/ openSuSE 10.3, but cannot be found w/ 11.0 (32 bit version). I thought it was permissions on the USB related /dev entry, since I had similar problems w/ connecting to my GPS. The GPS is better (well, I still cannot get gpsd working) w/ change in permissions, but still no webcam. Also, tried Skype/Kopete as root and no luck.
