I am trying to enable cpu frequency scaling on a 1.6 Intel Celeron M processor.
When I try to modprobe various kernel modules all I get are the following errors:
debian:/home/tuxedup# modprobe speedstep_centrino
FATAL: Error inserting speedstep_centrino (/lib/modules/2.6.18-3-686/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/speedstep-centrino.ko): No such device
debian:/home/tuxedup# modprobe p4_clockmod
FATAL: Error inserting p4_clockmod (/lib/modules/2.6.18-3-686/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/p4-clockmod.ko): No such device
debian:/home/tuxedup# modprobe acpi_cpufreq
FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/2.6.18-3-686/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko): No such device
All the guides I have tried all say that the p4-clockmod works for an Intel Celeron M.
Does anyone have any idea as to what is wrong? Does my version of Celeron M simply not support frequency scaling? What can I do enable it?
Some details of my cpu are
debian:/home/tuxedup# cpufreq-info
cpufrequtils 002: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2006

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
