connecting to the internet with a ISA PnP network adapter

I have set up a dual-boot scenario with windows and Slackware 9.1...
I am trying to use (in linux)what shows up (and works)in windows as a "D-Link DE220P ISA PnP LAN adapter", and when I boot into linux, isapnp comes on and says that it found something very simalar to what windows says.
but... there is no eth0 device, and when I use mozilla(or any other web browser under linux), it says something like "(what ever site I type in) could not be found. check the hostname, and try again)or konqueror "could not find host xxx"
any help on this problem would be appreciated...

P.S. My network card worked on first boot with redhat...but slackware is sooo much faster

This is Michaela from Germany.

I do not know your BIOS.
Most in this cases, it helps that you DISABLE the
PnP search in your BIOS.

Try this.

I leave PnP disabled in my bios...(by telling my bios that I do not have a PnP OS installed)
