Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Configuring Weblink v34 modem

Hi guys, i need help My modem got fried a few days ago, so im trying to use an old one as a temporary measure.

Its a Weblink Pro 3360 v.34 external with a rockwell chipset, as far as i can tell.

Its hooked up to the com port, the AA HS and MR lights are on. when i attempt to activate it, the TR light flashes briefly then it just sits there doing nothing.

Anyone know if an old modem like this will work, or how i can test it?

Dont really know what other info i could give. it was working fine before with a d-link 56k modem.
