Configurating ALSA and soundcard

Hello,

recording via MIC does not work. The problem seems to be the basic configuration of hardware.

Starting

alsamixer

within text-console MIC and CAPTURE are on.
Soundhardware seems to be working: I can hear the MIC-signal over speakers.

Trying to record with

arecord -d 10 -f cd -t wav test.wav

I get an empty file.

What is going wrong and how can I fix it?

Thank you

Do you mean a file of length 0?
A sound file with silence all over the recording time?

DAC = Digital to analog Converter
ADC = Analog to digital Converter
