Compiling Intel e1000e against new 2.6.27 kernel
I have compiled a vanilla 2.6.27 kernel from kernel.org and it has an older version of the e1000e module that doesn't work with my hardware. I've compiled the newer e1000e driver from Intel's source against the 2.6.27 kernel. I then copy pasted the new e1000e.ko file over the older version. Is this ok or will this cause problems? I just wanted to double check that I wasn't doing something wrong.
