compatability Question?


i am about to buy a new pc and want to know will it be comp with linux or not ?

it'll be motherboard Asus with proccesor 1.7 GHz and built in sound card and video card ( with DDR ram )

with Asus cdrom drive


can anyone help me plz?

Hey there buddy, sounds like a decent system. But it's a very generic question, some brands models and things might help. A rule of Thumb, ASUS makes good boards, and has been pretty well compatible on linux.

As for built in sound and video, well model and brand are something that should be mentioned

The major distros have a hardware compatibility list on their websites that you could check.

i got it finally )
but it seems that liunx ( mandy 9) can't config my video card correctly
what shall i do

it is intel extrem

Ditch on board video and get a decsent video card, that's my advice. http://xfree86.org/current/Status17.html#17 taht's all about intel chipset support in the most recent statble XFree86 release (4.2.1)
