Cmedia-cm8738 failure for midi in redhat 9

Hi, I have redhat 9 installed in my desktop which has a intergrated sound and modem card, the cm8738 runs good in sound and modem except the midi playback, kmid and kmidi won't work at all, kmid show error messages as "can't open sequence" I checked in /dev, the sequence linked with midi0 and other device. But in the info. message, sound system show no midi device at all, it's a blank box. kmidi show the error message like lacking some conf. file, no timidity...
I remember it works sometimes ago, I just reload the redhat 9.
Anybody could help me with it?
Thanks!

Wink

You have to install TiMiDity and its midi instruments to play midi files
