Class ffff: Illegal Vendor ID: ...

I've been having some trouble getting my wireless card to work... when I type lspci I get

Class ffff: Illegal Vendor ID: Unknown device ffff (rev ff)

as my wireless card.

I'm running slackware 10 with the 2.4.26 kernel.

Any ideas if this is the problem? Or better yet, how to fix it?

Is this a dual boot PC? Do you know if this is a working card? My first guess is try reseating the card, The error may be due to dirty contacts or not being seated correctly.

It's a Linksys wireless B card v4 (WPC11). The pc is not duel boot, but I'll try to see if I can get it to work on a friends windows laptop.
I'll let you know in a day or so when I get some time on my friends laptop... thanks.
