Check hda (disk with centos) for bad blocks (LVM)

Hello,
I still can boot linux (Centos 4), but I cannot copy (backup) the disk to another, I get sector errors.. (also in linux log files)..
So I need to check this, and hopefully repair it.. But I cannot check it, because the filesystem is LVM.. ?

fsck /dev/hda2 does not work correctly, says it's not ext2..

Who knows a solution, I'm also able to move the disk to a Windows pc.. so I can check it there with a program/.

Look in /etc/fstab to see what file system /dev/hda2 is using. Then put that file system into fsck. For example if /dev/hda2 is ext3 then:

fsck -y -t ext3 /dev/hda2

You should also have a look at http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/BadBlockHowTo.txt

fsck.ext3 instead of fsck will also use the ext3fs version of fsck.

filesystems exist within an LVM so you need to mount the LVM on hda2, not hda2 itself.
