i have a compaq presario sr1110nx, and i cant boot the installers to some linux distros, i can boot suse in safe mode, i can boot redhat but not any of the fedora cores, i cant boot mandrake installer, i am positive that all the cds are booting because they all first display their screens saying what distro they are, but as soon as i start teh install the comp like crashes and reboots, i think it might be my bios, any ideas?
I've read of a couple of install attempts on this desktop (with mixed results.) When at the first prompt of the install try typing "linux acpi=off" I don't own this particular desktop, but if you have more install problems post them here and we can try to help.
