cannot get scsi to register


I recently inherited a IBM eserver, type 8665-61y. It has 3 36gig scsi drives. I cannot get the boot/program disk to "see" the scsi drive array? what am i doing wrong? i'm new to linux so i could be doing something stupid, and i will admit it? HELP!!
adatec 7896 havwe not been able to find a diver that will work with the card, in linux

and what type of SCSI controller is it ? you are probably missing hte driver you need.. so step one is to identify the hardware so you can locate the driver.
