Can someone help me configure my dvd and cd drives?

I have everything working perfectly in Fedora, here is my fstab from Fedora:

LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults 1 1
none /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
/dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom udf,iso9660 noauto,owner,kudzu,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner,kudzu 0 0
/dev/hda6 /pclinuxos reiserfs noauto,user 0 2
/dev/cdrom1 /mnt/cdrom1 udf,iso9660 noauto,owner,kudzu,ro 0 0

My dvd is cdrom and I think it is hdc
My cdrw is cdrom1 and hdd in Fedora above

I can't seem to get them to work in pclinuxos ( a Mandrake 9.2 derivative)
Here is my fstab for pclinuxos:

# /dev/hda6, size=57191337, type=387: Journalised FS: ReiserFS (extended)
/dev/hda6 / reiserfs notail,noatime,notail,noatime 0 0
none /dev devfs defaults 0 0
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
# fd: H1440
/dev/fd0 /mnt/fd0 auto noauto,user,exec,rw,--,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,umask=0 0 0
# /dev/hda1, size=224847, type=131: Linux native (primary)
/dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1 ext2 user,exec,rw,auto 0 0
# /dev/hda3, size=32547690, type=387: Journalised FS: ReiserFS (primary)
/dev/hda3 /mnt/hda3 reiserfs user,exec,rw,auto,notail,noatime 0 0
# /dev/hda7, size=29077524, type=1155: Journalised FS: ext3 (extended)
/dev/hda7 /mnt/hda7 ext3 user,exec,rw,auto 0 0
# cdrom: Pioneer DVD-ROM ATAPIModel DVD-117 0104
/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd /mnt/hdc auto noauto,user,exec,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,umask=0,nohide 0 0
# cdrom: HL-DT-ST GCE-8160B
/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target1/lun0/cd /mnt/hdd auto noauto,user,exec,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,umask=0,nohide 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
# /dev/hda5, size=1028097, type=130: Linux swap (extended)
/dev/hda5 swap swap ,defaults 0 0

Under the pclinuxos hardware probe, it lists the dvd as /mnt/hdc in the old filesystem, but it is listed as scd0 under the new devfile system.

Also the same with the cdrw, it lists it as /mnt/hdc under the old file system, and scd1 under devfile system.

Anybody know what I should do?

# /dev/hda5, size=1028097, type=130: Linux swap (extended)
/dev/hda5 swap swap ,defaults 0 0

your PCLinuxOS is adding your cdroms as emulated scsi devices instead of ide devices. This is done from the boot loader passing arguments to the kernel. If you are using GRUB then look at /boot/grub/menu.lst and look for a line like this:

kernel = (blaah..blaah) hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi

Back up the file and remove the " hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi" bit, then reboot.
This should let you treat the drives the same way as you were with fedora

Alternatively you should be able to replace references to /dev/hdc and /dev/hdd with /dev/scd0 and /dev/scd1

Also, some apps like only scsi burners.
