Buslink 1.1 L20 how to make work

I'm on Fedora 23 right now.
I have a buslink 20G usb 1.1 mobile hard disk.

Really I just want to get the files off this old guy or at least see what's there and I really didn't want to have to rip the hard disk out of it to do so, but will as a last resort.

So here's my connundrum.
I hook it into my usb and power it up.

I get this in my /var/log/messages
Quote:
ug 13 12:20:26 asgard kernel: usb 1-1.5: new full-speed USB device number 3 using ehci-pci
Aug 13 12:20:26 asgard kernel: usb 1-1.5: New USB device found, idVendor=067b, idProduct=2307
Aug 13 12:20:26 asgard kernel: usb 1-1.5: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
Aug 13 12:20:26 asgard kernel: usb 1-1.5: Product: USB-ATAPI4 Bridge Controller
Aug 13 12:20:26 asgard kernel: usb 1-1.5: Manufacturer: buslink-inc.
Aug 13 12:20:26 asgard kernel: usb 1-1.5: SerialNumber: 45228
Aug 13 12:20:26 asgard mtp-probe: checking bus 1, device 3: "/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.5"
Aug 13 12:20:26 asgard mtp-probe: bus: 1, device: 3 was not an MTP device
so i copied over my 69-libmtp.rules file over to /etc/udev/rules.d/ directory. and I added in an exclusion to ignore this device.
i.e.
Quote:
ATTR{idVendor}=="067b", ATTR{idProduct}=="2307", GOTO="libmtp_rules_end"
Now when I connect this device and power it up.

Aug 13 12:41:27 asgard kernel: usb 1-1.5: SerialNumber: 45228
no error. But I get nothing in /dev/sd* so I can't mount it.

This is a really old disk, and on buslink's site the EOF of it was win XP up to just before the last SP, so last win XP SP and up it won't even work (or at least supported) on windows.

Is there any way to get his thing to work on Fedora? (23) I did search for buslink threads here, but none of them seem to have a resolution.

thx
