booting error

i have a problem in booting my red hat 9. its directly going to
(Repair filesystem)#:
what to do ........... plz help me.

Are there any other error messages displayed just above that explaining which device has errors such /dev/hda1 ? It looks like your system is wanting you to manually run a filesystem check, which can be with:
fsck /dev/hda1
for example, depending on your filesystem and where you installed Linux to. Let us know any other errors detailed just before it leaves you at the prompt.
