Black Screen ,


please , i need help ,,

i have installed linux SuSE 10 on my laptop ,, but it refuses to open the graphical interface ,, it gives me a black screen ,,
it also gave me a 16 colour environment while performing the setup process ,,
i have tried to install the driver but it didn't do me any good,
My VGA card it ATI X700 , i have a 17 inch screen ,,

i really need help as i am a linux begginer..
thanks in advance

without information regarding the rest of your system it is sort of hard. posting the specs of your system would help.

try doing yast(as root) on the command line. then go to hardware>>Graphics Card. And setting up your stuff from there.
