Audigy 2 sound issues involving 4 speaker

I'm running the latest stable Ubuntu and Soundblaster Audigy 2 card with 4 speaker capability. Recently I had to reload thanks to windows (and a spot of my own stupidity in thinking that I could fix the problem on my own) and now that I've re-loaded only Alsaplayer plays music in true 4 channel mode (I have the desktop speakers hooked up to the "front" speaker jack and my headphones hooked up to the "Back" speaker jack).

I don't know if I did anything to Ubuntu to get it to work in 4 speaker mode before, but that's all I have now save for the Alsaplayer.
