ATI PCI 9250 and opensuse 10.2

Hi all,
I'm trying to get DRI working with my ATI RADEON 9250 PCI using OpenSuse 10.2.
ATI released package 8.32-5 which should be good for xorg 7.2 included in opensuse 10.2... but they removed support for 9250 model!!!!
Support is provided up to 8.28... which doesn't support xorg > 7.1!

How to get it working? Xorg.0.log reports:
fglrx: X version mismatch - detected X.org 7.2.-1.902 required X.org 7.1.0.0!!!

Please help!

I cannot find the article I read but the fix has to do with altering your xorg config file and resolution I believe. I tried googling for it but couldn't locate it. Sorry

There's no reason to use the proprietary driver with a 9250. The open source DRI supports all 3D features of that card.

ATI Radeon 9250 is a dual head card. If I try to play 2 different videos at the same time to the two output monitors I can see something like video overlapping in each monitor... This doesn't happen with "fglrx" proprietary driver but this ones plays video files very slowly!

The video problem happens because your video player is trying to use the YUV overlay (XVideo) to play both videos, which won't work because the video card only has one overlay. The proprietary driver emulates multiple overlays in software, but this is extremely slow (as you've seen). The correct solution is to configure your video player to use OpenGL instead of XVideo to output the video. This will let you play multiple videos at once with good performance using the open source driver (but note that for playing a single video, XVideo is faster and produces better image quality than OpenGL)
