Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

ATI FirePro M7740 under Linux.

Hi,

I'm trying to use a notebook with an ATI FirePro M7740 under Linux. The main question is : how is this card supported under Linux?
Under ubuntu I haven't managed to make the opensource drivers work, and the proprietary Catalyst have crappy performance (good for pure 3D applications, desktop performance is ridiculous.)

The opensource driver seems to detect it all right (no trouble in Xorg.0.log), but 3D rendering falls back to software rasterizer (Ubuntu) or LLVMPipe (fedora).

Serafean.
