Question ATI All in Wonder 8500 DV

I have an ATI All in Wonder 8500 DV and I was wondering if it is possible to get the TV Tuner to work for this card under linux? I am fairly new to linux so if it is possible how would I go about setting this up?

Please tell me how you did it!

Hi,
I have been searching for the last two weeks for a way to use the TV tuner on my newly acquired ATI 9200 All-In-Wonder card. Naturally, the 3D and 2D accelerated rendering work great using ATI's binary drivers. I also tried to use GATOS drivers to enable the tuner, as others have said it can be done only with them. However, I have had absolutely no luck at all with them. I don't know if it's my kernel configuration, as I was able to get the much lower-end ATI TV Wonder VE working just fine with the exact same kernel without having to even resort to either ATI's drivers or GATOS. Please tell me what you did with your kernel, your XF86Config, your X drivers, and your modules.conf. I am so fed up with this damn card that I am about to return it and take the refund money to use to get a Hauppage PVR-250 instead.

Thanks

You've said you used the gatos drivers. Have you read their homepage as well? Especially the text with the huge red letters on the supported cards page

I assume your card has the Rage Theatre 200 chip as well as every other card since the AIW 8500 has. Now wait a year and you'll get it working...
