Atheros AR5001X+ on Fedora Core 2 Driver Problem

I'm using Fedora Core 2 on Toshiba A40 laptop. Everything works fine (even APM), except for the Atheros AR5001X+ wireless card. I downloaded the driver from the wiki site madwifiwiki.thewebhost.de/wiki/FrontPage
but the driver's makefile does not compile. The problem is in the vmlinux folder, and it's contents - the makefile assumes that such a folder exists, while I simply don't have it on the system. The following makefile log is produced:

[root@max-p4 madwifi-20030802]# make
for i in ./ath_hal ./wlan ./driver; do \
(cd $i; make); \
done
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/max/Sources/madwifi-20030802/ath_hal'

#############END#######################

Does anyone know how to fix this? I have located the line in another makefile for this driver that points to vmlinux, so I can change it, but I also don't know where the ah_osdep.o is stored (and I tried searching - no results found, but that's probably because I did not search properly).

Thank you for your help.

~Max
