Question ASUS- P5GC TVM V's SATA 1. PORT


DEAR FRIEND,
I AM USING
ASUS P5GC -TVM SE/S --MOTHERBOARD
WD-3 160GB SATA/300 8MB, BUF. 3.5
LINUX RHEL 4.0
IC2D E4500 2.2GHZ 800M L6EXDN
HYNIX-1GB DDRII667 PC2-5300 UNBUFF NON-ECC-B
SMPS 250W 20 PIN
CHASIS FAN 80 MM WITH 2 PIN.
COOLMAST-1 FANSINK FOR IC2D LGA775
SAMSUNG 16XDVD, COMBO DRIVE

WITH THIS CONFIG I AM FACING TWO PROBLEM.
  1. WHEN I AM USING IT WITH SATA1 PORT, WITH "IDE SETTING -- 'MODE=ENHANCED' && 'TYPE=SATA'THAN IT IS NOT GOING INSIDE lINUX OS, AND
  2. BUT WHEN I AM DOING SAME BUT WITH "IDE SETTING--'MODE=COMPATIBLE' && ''TYPE=SATA' THAN IT IS BOOTING BUT ODD IS NOT SENSED BY MACHINE. IN BIOS OR IN OS.

PLEASE HELP ME IF SOME ONE CAN HELP.
