Arduino Uno driver not loading
I cannot figure out how to get my Mandriva system to recognize my Arduino board. The Arduino works fine on both my Windows XP system and my desktop Ubuntu system so I know the board is okay.
I found that the USB driver was not the problem. After I got the system to see the board it was still using the ACM device driver and showed up as /ttyACM0. I'm not sure what "fixed" the problem but I went through about a dozen different web sites with information on getting the Arduino working with linux and somewhere along the way it started working. There are still communications issues with the combination but they are workable.
The problem seems to be that the Mandriva system is not loading the ftdi driver. When I plug the board into a USB connection the system installs it as a generic ACM device. I can't figure out how to determine if the ftdi driver is available on my system and if not how to install it. If it is available how do I tell the system to use it?
I am using Mandriva 2010.2
kernal: 2.6.33.7
Thanks
