Angry apt-get dist-upgrade broke fglrx driver?

Hi all,

Today I got the bright idea to do apt-get dist-upgrade. While it seemed a good idea at the time, this later proved disastrous. Before, i had installed the fglrx driver and everything was really great, great acceleration and all that...then i upgraded. The next time I started my computer, X wouldnt start. While I cant remember the exact message, it said fglrx not found. So, I did a modprobe fglrx, and tried again. This time, it gave some kind of error message about the version of the driver being 0 and the version of X being 1. I can post the exact message later, when I have more time to fool with it. I was able to run X again by editing xorg.conf to point at "radeon" instead of "fglrx". I tried reconfiguring the xserver, and i got the same error. Any ideas as to what to do? Should I downgrade to a previous version of X? Im assuming that the upgrade must have upgraded X as well. I believe the version that it reported when i checked earlier was 7.11.....
running:
Elive Revolution unstable (based on debian testing)
ATI Radeon 200M

i COULD reinstall Elive, and I know that that would fix it, but I REALLY DONT WANT to lose all the programs and junk ive downloaded. Dont have a highspeed connection at the house yet, so i had to spend a while at the coffee shop and the library to get em :-)

Thanks,
Drew

Hi,

I think you have to install ati driver again, and that will solve your situation.

Happy Penguins!
